Deloitte appointed to TV call centre business 13 October 2014

Administrators from Deloitte have been appointed to Save Britain Money Limited, the call centre company featured in BBC television series ‘The Call Centre’.

Save Britain Money (SBM), which styles itself as “the consumer champion”, is a non-trading entity established to provide operational support and managerial services to companies in the SBM group.

The other businesses the group continue to trade and administrators have confirmed there have been no redundancies.

Richard Hawes and Matthew Cowlishaw of Deloitte were appointed as joint administrators to the company on 7 October.

A statement from the company said: “As a non-trading company the business did not have the financial resources available to pay damages awarded against it in a recent court case regarding a lease on a former office.”

SBM operates leasehold premises in Swansea and administrators are currently in discussion with the other tenants.
