Nottingham-based John Pye & Sons has confirmed it is to open a seven-acre auction facility in the West Midlands later this summer.
The company unveiled the latest phase of its national expansion programme earlier today just days after it was confirmed as the shirt sponsor of Football League Championship club Nottingham Forest.
The company’s football sponsorship is part of an integrated awareness programme which has coincided with the launch of seven new auction sites across the UK over the past eight months.
Adam Pye, managing director and principal auctioneer at the firm, said the company has been providing professional services in and around Birmingham for years now and the time had come for those services to be underpinned by a substantial auction facility.
He explained: “We are a bricks and mortar business – it is key we are able to provide national clients with tangible storage solutions as well as auction recovery opportunities and this new facility will do that in spades.
“The new facility will create some great opportunities for people within Pyes who will help take up the reins of the new facility and, as a result, more employment opportunities will be created at our Nottingham head office.”
The company now holds around 400 auctions a year across its eight sites in Nottingham, Sheffield, Peterborough, Bristol, Edmonton, Park Royal Belvedere and Croydon.
