Insolvency practices

Begbies Traynor has strengthened its south-east team with the appointment of a new Recovery Director, Kirstie Provan.

Kirstie joins Begbies from Landsbanki Commercial Finance, where she worked in asset based lending. She was also previously part of Baker Tilly’s business recovery team.

Grant Thornton has appointed two new partners to their recovery and reorganisation department.  Matt Dunham, who is also North West chairman of R3, joins Grant Thornton's Manchester office from BDO Stoy Hayward. Meanwhile, in London Giles Newman has been promoted to partner in the firm's healthcare team, which operates within the R&R department.

Law firms

International law firm Harney Westwood & Riegels has appointed Sarah Dobbyn as head of the firm's Cayman Islands litigation and insolvency practice.

Dobbyn has more than 20 years of experience in cross-border insolvencies, restructurings and international commercial litigation in both onshore and offshore environments.

Manchester law firm JMW has appointed Joanne Culley as a senior associate in its corporate recovery and insolvency practice. She joins from Halliwells where she was a professional support lawyer.
