Leonard Curtis buys Shipley practice 19 March 2015

Insolvency and corporate recovery group Leonard Curtis Business Solutions has acquired the insolvency caseload of chartered accountancy and advisory firm Shipleys LLP.

The transaction, completed on 19 February 2015, is the latest in a series of Work in Progress (WIP) purchases completed by Leonard Curtis. The SME business recovery group, which has ten offices nationwide, most recently bought the WIP of insolvency practice J M Marriott & Co in 2012, and before that the majority of the caseload of Bridge Business Recovery LLP in 2011.

Neil Bennett, director at Leonard Curtis, said: “We are delighted to announce the acquisition of the WIP of Shipleys’ insolvency practice. We see the deal as an opportunity to reinforce our position in the market.”

He added: “We share a similar ethos to Shipleys, which will ensure a smooth transition of the business.”

Steve Ryman, principal of Shipleys LLP, said: “The transaction enables us to refocus on our core business of providing professional business advisory services to our clients.”
