Barinbrook hotel sold out of administration 21 May 2014

The last hotel operated by Barinbrook Limited (formerly Akkeron Hotels (Admiral) Limited) has been sold out of administration.

The 71-room Best Western Rockingham Forest Hotel in Corby was sold three months after Barinbrook entered administration, preserving 51 jobs.

Akkeron Hotels (Admiral) Ltd and Akkeron Hotels (Corby) Ltd both entered administration on 26 February, nine days after Akkeron Hotels Ltd also became insolvent.

Prior to entering administration, Akkeron Hotels (Admiral) Ltd and Akkeron Hotels (Corby) Ltd changed their name to Barinbrook Ltd and Barinbrook (Central) Ltd respectively.

Nick Cropper, Peter Holder and Anne O’Keefe of Zolfo Cooper were appointed joint administrators of Barinbrook Limited and Barinbrook (Central) Limited on 26 February 2014.

In March, five leasehold hotels were sold by the administrator as a going concern to West Register (Property Investments) Limited and will be managed by Jupiter Hotels, securing 133 jobs.

Himley Country Hotel, operated by Barinbrook Limited, was sold as a going concern on 28 February 2014, securing 42 jobs.

Cropper, partner at Zolfo Cooper, said: “We are delighted with the outcome achieved and would like to thank the staff for their support and professionalism during this process”.
