Somerset-based printing firm Butler Tanner & Dennis Ltd has announced it will enter administration.
The company, a subsidiary of Butler Tanner and Dennis Holdings Ltd, a specialist printer and binder of colour books and brochures, suffered as a result of “continued trading losses and prevailing market conditions”.
Company directors confirmed their intention to place the company into administration yesterday (13 May).
It is yet unclear how many of the company’s 100 staff will be affected.
Butler Tanner & Dennis chief executive CEO Gerald White, said: “After spending months considering the future of the business, various lease options for our existing site and searching for alternative appropriate premises from which to print, we have unfortunately been left with no option but to put Butler Tanner and Dennis Ltd into administration.
“We very much regret the impact this will have on our loyal staff and customers and the community of Frome. The maps operation will continue to trade while the directors consider the future of that business including where the operation can be sited and as a result we hope that some jobs will be preserved.”
“We will of course be exploring all possible ways to avoid compulsory redundancies and to minimise the number of employees affected.”
Company directors will appoint Richard Rones of Thornton Rones as administrator following court approval.
