Tune up for bodyshop business 10 March 2014

A Staffordshire car garage and bodyshop has been bought out of administration, securing the positions of 17 staff.

K&G Bodyshop Ltd entered administration as a result of cash flow problems.

Kelly Burton and Lisa Hogg of Wilson Field were appointed as joint administrators of the company on 28 February.

A sale of the business and assets of K&G was completed on the same day.

Former K&G director, Michael Price-Darby, bought the business, based on Burntwood Industrial Estate, under MPD Trading, preserving 17 permanent positions from technicians to administration staff.

Kelly Burton, joint administrator and associate director at Wilson Field in Leeds, said: “We reviewed the situation, assessed the ongoing contracts held by the company, its viability and sold it as a going concern.

“Despite the economy still affecting many businesses, it is an excellent result when we can give a company a future and save jobs.”
