BDO seeks sale of mining business 19 February 2014

Two Nottinghamshire-based mining companies have entered administration, resulting in 55 redundancies.

Dosco Overseas Engineering Limited and Hollybank Engineering Co. Limited specialised in the design and manufacture of mining industry equipment.

Dosco focused on the design and manufacture of mining equipment, while Hollybank manufactured tailor-made support systems for mining.

Both companies employed approximately 60 staff, but prior to the appointment of administrators 55 staff were made redundant.

Ian Gould and Eddie Kerr or BDO LLP were appointed joint administrators over the companies on 30 January 2014.

The administrators continue to trade, with the intention of selling the business as a going concern.

Eddie Kerr said: “Unfortunately the economic climate and difficult trading conditions have significantly affected the business, together with a decline in orders. However, we are hopeful of securing a sale and the Companies will continue to trade whilst this is explored.”
