Tax advisory firm Crowe Clark Whitehill has announced the hire of corporate recovery expert James Martin as a new partner.
Formerly a regional chairman of insolvency trade body R3, Martin has been recruited to manage the Midlands branch of Crowe Clark Whitehill Recovery Solutions.
James Martin said: “I have spent most of my working life in the recovery world and still very much enjoy seeing a troubled company change and survive after working hard with the management team to turn it around.
“Corporate recovery has changed considerably over the years – early intervention and restructuring are increasingly important.
“I see Recovery Solutions as a part of the toolkit alongside Corporate Finance and good Tax and Advisory help – hence the strong attraction of joining Crowe Clark Whitehill.”
He will be responsible for running a team which specialises in administrations, company voluntary arrangements, individual voluntary arrangements, liquidations, bankruptcies and advising businesses facing financial difficulties.
David Mellor, chief executive of Crow Clark Whitehill, said: “Corporate recovery plays an important role in the integrated solutions that we offer our clients, and I am pleased to welcome James to further strengthen Crowe Clark Whitehill Recovery Solutions.”
Mark Newman, head of Crowe Clark Whitehill Recovery Solutions, added: “James’ appointment adds even more weight to our growing national corporate recovery practice, expanding our capacity to support businesses in the Midlands.”
