Practitioners, lawyers, bankers and debt managers were among the insolvency elite that comprised the 700 people in attendance at last night’s 2013 Insolvency & Rescue Awards, sponsored by Capa.
In a lavish ceremony at the Lancaster Hotel in the heart of London’s West End, the winners of the 25 hotly contested categories finally learnt they had been voted the very best in their discipline.
Comedian Miles Jupp enlivened proceedings ahead of the winner announcements, with the mood of insolvency’s finest well and truly in the party spirit.
Publishing director Kamala Panday welcomed last night’s attendees to the awards – now in their sixth year – before event sponsor Capa took to the stage to celebrate their 10th anniversary.
The generosity of the industry also didn’t go unnoticed as the attendees dug deep in their pockets for donations towards the evening’s charity – Save the Children – an incredibly worthy cause.
Sayyeda Salam – the charity’s deputy director of philanthropy – collected a cheque for an astonishing £20,029 on stage.
The event followed on from the third annual Insolvency Today Conference which featured some of the biggest names in the business discussing a diverse range of insolvency topics.
