Roofing supplier bought out of administration 9 September 2013

The business and assets of a Welsh roofing supplies business has been bought from administration, securing 16 jobs.

Cardiff Roofing Supplies, established in 1983, suffered “financial difficulties” leading to the company enter administration on 1 August.

Robert Dymond and Lisa Hogg of Wilson Field were appointed as joint administrators.

The Cardiff office of Wilson Field assisted with the sale of the assets of the business to local builders’ merchants Robert Price (Roofing Supplies) Ltd, which is part of the Robert Price Group.

The deal will see all 16 staff move across to the other company.

Jon Law, head of the Cardiff Wilson Field office, said: “Cardiff Roofing Supplies was an established family business with a good reputation in the sector for providing a variety of roofing materials.

“Wilson Field was appointed to look for a suitable buyer of the assets of the company. Robert Price Group is a well-known business with a variety of subsidiaries and saw this as an opportunity to expand its operation across South Wales.

“Also, the deal enabled all employees to keep their jobs, providing a positive outcome for the local economy.”

Cardiff Roofing Supplies, which had branches in Cardiff, Bridgend and Newport, had an annual turnover of more than £6m.
