A wedding planner who arranged the lesbian wedding of Skunk Anansie lead singer ‘Skin’ and partner Christiana Wyly has gone bankrupt.
Michelle Candice David was previously the director of Besos Concierge Limited – a luxury women-only lifestyle management company – which offered wedding planning services.
However, the official receiver in Croydon confirmed last week that Ms David has now filed for bankruptcy.
Her company’s website is also no longer active and she has resigned as a director of the company, according to documents filed at Companies House.
Ms David’s declaration of bankruptcy comes just weeks after Skunk Anansie’s lead singer filed a writ at the High Court making a claim for thousands of pounds from the wedding service.
Skin – aka Debrorah Dyer – wrote that she and her partner were contacted by entertainers, musicians and caterers who claimed they had not been paid for their services. Subsequent court reports suggest that the claim is being contested by Ms David.
In her bankruptcy papers filed at the Kingston Upon Thames County Court, Ms David listed her occupation as a food, lifestyle writer and trainee chef, residing at and operating from 12 Elder House, Water Lane, Kingston upon Thames.
Insolvency News was unable to substantiate whether the claims issued in the original writ have yet been tested before a judge.
