Insolvency lawyer makes partner at Irwin Mitchell 18 April 2013

Irwin Mitchell has confirmed insolvency lawyer Doug Robertson has been promoted to partner at the firm’s Leeds office.

Of the 10 lawyers that have been promoted to the partnership, six have been promoted from the legal services division and four in the commercial services team.

The promotion is part of the largest partnership round to date which included the three non-lawyers such as communications head Mark Duffell who is promoted to associate director – the firm’s partnership equivalent.

John Pickering, group chief executive of Irwin Mitchell, said the latest partnership round was in keeping with the firm’s internal recognition and reward programme.

He added: “We will always reward people on the basis of the value they bring to our business.”

Danny Varhalamas and David Robinson of the firm’s personal legal services division and Janet Sandford of the business support team are also included in the latest round.

Irwin Mitchell’s insolvency operation is housed within the business’s Legal Services team.

Current partners within the team include Julie Atkinson at the firm’s Sheffield office, Chris Jones of the Manchester office and Andrew Walker who works in Leeds, London and Sheffield.

Michael Bennett is an associate in the Birmingham office handling insolvency matters as well as personal legal services and restructuring.
