International law firm Stephenson Harwood has appointed Stuart Frith as head of its corporate insolvency and restructuring practice. Frith joins from Leeds-based law firm Brooke North, where he has been a partner since 1989. Frith has gained a wealth of experience during his career and has been involved in a number of significant cases, including the recent collapse of Lehman Brothers, Leeds United Football Club and XL Airways. He was previously president of the Insolvency Lawyers’ Association and is a member of the general technical committee of R3. Frith also sits as a deputy registrar in the High Court.

Mike Solomons has been appointed as a partner within Kingston Smith & Partners LLP, the corporate recovery and insolvency arm of top 20 UK accountancy firm Kingston Smith LLP.  Mike is a licensed insolvency practitioner with 20 years’ experience in corporate, personal insolvency and recovery work. He has advised businesses in a number of industry sectors and recently traded a large mail order company via administration.  “In these difficult times for British business, I’m looking forward to working for a firm committed to providing struggling companies with the best possible solution to their needs,” said Mike, who is a Fellow of the Insolvency Practitioners Association and a Fellow of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals.
