His appointment comes as Mike Saville, a partner in the Leeds office of Begbies Traynor since 2004 takes up an international role and moves to the Cayman Islands where he will set up a new office for Begbies. He will take up his new role early next month.

“Mike’s appointment is part of the decision to grow our international practice,” said Mr Traynor. “We already have a number of overseas locations and there are a huge number of international funds based in the Cayman Islands along with a very significant finance industry. Last year we handled the liquidation of Carlyle Capital Corporation – a £22bn leveraged investment fund, and are actively planning to grow our presence in the fund restructuring business.

Meanwhile, Leonard Curtis has strengthened its team with the appointment of Sara Cole as Corporate Insolvency Manager within the insolvency and recovery department at its Blackburn office.  Sara joins the ten-strong Blackburn office from Jackson Gregory and Co. of Bolton, where she was an insolvency manager.
